The Google Maps application used on the GTI site has undergone some work on map names and places for some country maps. The maps for Russia, Vietnam, and China have now been updated so that city names are provided in the official national language and also romanized, as applicable. As for tiger populations, the earlier estimated figures did cause some confusion. We are now using official estimates of Adult tigers in country populations, according to the 2009 IUCN published Red List numbers.

With the maps in general, is it possible to include English names (in brackets?) ? For east Russia, parts of China etc its hard to keep track of affairs when we cant find the places on the map. secondly, from my work here with FPD and Environmental Police, they believe that there are only about 50 Tigers left in Vn (and 6 of those are already known to be dead!!!)
